Motown Era and Friends
Starring Lady T and Friends
It’s been over 10 years since Theresa Lyons Moore “Lady T” has been on the Lindsay stage with her younger sister, Crystal Lyons Steverson, and her talented father, Harold Lyons. It was the year 2013, yet it feels like only yesterday. From a young age, Teresa grew up listening to her father and uncles, Ted and Marvin, perform in a group called the “Iridescence.” After being away for many years her father again took the stage here in Lindsay in 2013 with Crystal and Teresa in a group called The Real Deal. They sang songs by artists like Diana Ross and the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Tammy Terrell, Gladys Knight, Berry White and many others. Now “Lady T” returns to the Lindsay stage with the help of her talented friends for another Motown night at the Lindsay Community Theater.
SANDY WATERS
Her stage name is Sandy Waters because she enjoyed the beach as a child, and she wanted a name that stood out like her voice. She began singing as a child in church and then in her high school choir. Doing lots of talent shows, features, and studio recordings she created a sound that was uniquely her own. She listened to artists like Etta James, Gladys Knight and the Pips, and male artists like Luther Vandross and Pebo Byson. She has a strong voice for a woman, so she listened to a lot of male songs. She can sing in a dominant or tender voice depending on the kind of song she sings.
AMANDA CORDOVA
Music has always been a part of Amanda Cordova’s life. She has loved singing for as long as she can remember, but she didn’t perform in front of a large audience until her senior year of high school, when she sang in the school’s talent show. That experience gave her the confidence to continue performing, and soon after, she was singing with a band at a local restaurant. Since then, she has continued to develop as a singer and to share her love for music with others.
DANI FESPERMAN
Music has always been a huge passion for Dani Fesperman and something she felt connected to. She started singing when she was young and has always enjoyed performing and expressing herself through music. She currently sings with a band at a local restaurant, which is a great way to continue growing as a performer. Her goal is to develop as a vocalist, gain more experience performing, and eventually create and share her own music. She is excited to see where music takes her and is grateful for every opportunity to do what she loves.
STEVEN SKINNER
Steven Skinner first started playing guitar his freshman year of high school. He had had violin lessons as a kid and played baritone horn in middle school, but when his mom gave him his first guitar for his 14th birthday, he truly fell in love with playing music. He is completely self-taught, only receiving pointers from seasoned guitarists every now and then. He is a proficient rhythm guitarist and can play just about any jazz chord progression. His goal is to be a proficient multi-instrumentalist one day, and perhaps even release an album. His ultimate dream is to buy a saxophone and finally learn to play it.
DEVIN MOORE
Devin Moore is the son of Theresa Lyons Moore , and the grandson of Harold Lyons who was a member of the Motown Family. He eventually would like to go by his artist name LofiJabs. He has been into music ever since he received his 1st guitar from his mom as a freshman in high school. Watching his family on stage lit the fire in him to do more with his music. Rather than main stream music he loves the 80’s funk and Indie alternative. He is a bit introverted, so he does a lot as a solo playing, but now he feels ready to share all he has. He is a self-taught new artist who began collecting music equipment as a hobby and the rest just comes naturally.
